Previous Next The African Union has announced that the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic has ratified the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa (Maputo Protocol). This increases the total ratifications from 42 to 43 out of 55 AU member states. The following is the press release from the African Union, published May 4th 2022. “The Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) has ratified the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa, becoming the 43rd African State to ratify the Protocol and committing to advance
