REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS ALLIANCE (RHRA)

The Reproductive Health and Rights Alliance (RHRA) was formed in 2004 by a group of comprised of medical, legal, women’s and human rights advocates with an aim of contributing towards the prevention and reduction of the high maternal deaths and disabilities caused by unsafe abortion. It does this by advocating for the repeal and enactment of laws and policies that permit access to safe abortion services in Kenya.

COALITION ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (COVAW)

COVAW is a non-profit making national women human rights organization registered in Kenya under the NGO Coordination Act. COVAW was established in 1995 as a result of a workshop organized by WILDAF (Women in Law and development in Africa) that sought to strengthen the networking capacities of women organizations in Kenya. They are committed to breaking the cycle of violence against women and believe that society should be free from all forms of violence.

CENTER FOR REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS (CRR)

Founded in 1992, the Center for Reproductive Rights is the recognized global leader in using legal and human rights strategies to secure every woman’s reproductive autonomy and access to healthcare as fundamental human rights. The Center for Reproductive Rights believes that a woman’s ability to exercise her human rights, as well as her equality and status in society, are directly linked to her enjoyment of reproductive rights—without the ability to make decisions about her health and life, a woman cannot enjoy her right to participate in educational institutions, the workplace, or the political sphere.
